RELAZIONE TRA TIPOLOGIE DI PLASTICA E SPECIE DEL BIOFOULING: SCELTA O CASUALITÀ?

Abstract

We analyzed a sampling of 53 marine debris collected in the Central Tyrrhenian Sea off the Latium coast. We distinguished the different types of plastics and identified the biofouling species.  The dominant organisms were bivalves and sea squirts. This study demonstrated a clear relationship between biofouling species and different types of plastics.
